I am going to do something I don’t ever do, so take it for what it’s worth. I am going…to get personal.
I have a dog named Santana. He was a pound puppy. He is without doubt awesome.

Recently he hurt his back; it’s a slipped disc. Very low level, he should be just fine. Just as long as he doesn’t really move for the next 4 weeks. Meaning no jumping, no running, limited walking, basically complete bed rest. The reason being is a harsh movement at this stage could cause him to be paralyzed. While this isn’t an extreme likelyhood, it is still a possibility.
Now every night my pup sleeps in my bed. I pet him while trying to finish up work on my laptop. I have gotten the art of typing with one hand down. Well right now he can’t be in the bed with me because he will in the night hop down or move too much. So for the time being I am sleeping downstairs, I mean after all he never left my side when I got sick, he is a good dog like that.
Now some people, some of you even might think “what a freak, it’s just a dog”. Yeah, well, he is my friend. No, I don’t carry him around like a purse or put him on the phone to talk to people. I understand what he is. But I also understand that what he is, is my best friend. I look out for my best friends, if you are a friend it is for life. When something is important to you, when something matters you do what it takes. If you don’t like it or think I am weird, I don’t care.
What the heck does this have to do with fat loss or being healthy?
If your friends don’t like it that you start working out…don’t care.
If your co-workers look at you weird for doing desk exercises…don’t care.
If your family complains that their food isn’t “junky and tastey” anymore…don’t care.
If a waiter get’s snooty because you ask for no oil or butter…don’t care.
If your friends always have something to say about your diet or changes you are making to better yourself…DON’T CARE!
If you might die early in life because you gave up trying, if you might be leaving behind someone who is depending on you, if the difference between your loved ones missing you at the holidays is you doing what it takes…CARE.
Do what it takes to make yourself and your loved ones happy, no matter what people think.

Sounds like your pooch has a good friend.
At first I thought you said that your male dog’s name was Samantha. ???? HAHAHA! Opps. Leigh, I hope Santana gets well soon. This is a really good blog.
