Diets DO work, dieting down for life doesn’t (Part 2)

I feel like I keep doing these important blog pieces during horrible weather. What’s up with that?

Right now I am held up in a corner at my local Barnes and Noble because yet another tornado/bad storm has affected our area. This time I was actually a little wigged by it. It was a “Hail gave us a Christmas in May” look for about 5 minutes. Good times!

Needless to say my home is out of power so I have dragged my gimp-looking self with hat and shades up to the bookstore for power.

On the way there I passed some fantastic diet books. My favorite title was, and I am not 100% sure of exact title, The Hot Latin Diet. Wow, brilliant! Being a pale white girl from the south I will take that diet any day.

 

I can only imagine what lies underneath that hot salsa-dancing cover. Can you? Bet you can! Bet if you really thought about it you could come up with that diet in your head.

Okay I will do it myself, in fact, I challenge someone to look at the same book next time they are at a bookstore and tell me if I am wrong. I really hope someone does it, ha!

Prediction of the Latin Hot Body Diet Book-

1-Eat less
2-Recipes that are full of color, life, and complicated to the average person
3-POWER FOODS! Since it is latino then it has to be foods like… chili’s, peppers, avacodos, cilantro, Chick peas, rice, mangos, and salmon.
4-I doubt there is a heavy focus on exercise that is technical. Maybe some tips, tales of dancing more and being more free in life and love. I am feeling more of an “herbs and breathing inner self” from the cover than new rules of lifting.

So let me know how I did, I am curious because now I really won’t pick it up!

Since I can pretty much bet money I am right, how can I do this?

How do I know that well what inside this book and be so cocky about it?

Because it has to be: that is what all diet methods are. It’s a METHOD to get you, the reader, to best enjoy your weight loss process as much as possible. They just don’t come out and say it like that.

See, I can write a thousand different programs that would fit with thousands of people. I just wrote a b-boy diet for a friend that would best cut the weight while provide the best for training for b-boy dancing and strength-building.

Tomorrow I will write up a program for a housewife who lives by a pool and loves water and the sun more than life itself. She will get her own kind of diet and training program. One that fits for working with vitamin intake she needs, nutrition optimization of her life, and training for her goals.

In the end the b-boy and lady by the pool are going to be doing the same thing…one guess as to what…

Question?

Did you have a method that worked for you in the past? Did you leave it for something flashier? Maybe the method wasn’t the problem, maybe the method was working. Maybe you just need to know why it was working?

  1. I think that anyone could come up with a diet as most are very similar. So chosing a diet and guessing how it was made is not very difficult. They are based on the same kind of principles but, I am impressed you figured this diet out so well. I think anyone could write a diet book very easily as long as they know how to write.
