Bodyfat, pants size, scale weight…what defines “done” ?

The post title was an actual question sent to me. And I have the ultimate and definitive test for ending body composition and it takes very little time.

What you will need:

  • Little clothing, usually a bathing suit or swim trunks works
  • Good Lighting
  • Mirror or Camera (ideally both)

What you will need to do:

  1. Get dressed
  2. Turn on the good lighting
  3. Stand in front of the camera/mirror and take pictures of yourself from multiple angles and sides.

Do you like what you see? If “Yes,” don’t lose it and enjoy your hard earned work.

Do you not like what you see? If “No,” either work harder or determine if your personal demands and criteria are starting to be unhealthy or unrealistic.

How do you determine that? That’s another blog post for another day.

Stand in front of a mirror with little clothing? Leigh, surely you jest!! I avoid that at all costs!! And good lighting? I did not know there was such a thing - hmm, maybe it is just all my fat and cellulite looks bad with any source of light!!! I am all about the dark and a mu mu. Hey, maybe a third option would be to send you the pics and get your diagnosis and treatment! :)

  2. I should do that.

This entry of yours with all of your wisdom will for sure be bookmarked for me to look at over and over!! Working on the book slowly but surely, a bit on the evenings after work…..can’t wait for a day off so I can really get into it! I am learning a lot already….Thanks Leigh!

  4. This sounds much more reasonable than a number on a scale! Thanks Leigh!

Sign me up for BAP! But be warned - your optic nerve may end up being paralyzed! :>
Thanks for all the info Leigh. I am getting these books soon (since I obviously can’t win them - I even tried to email back on Feb 1st at midnight and my computer froze up, so it is obvious that I can’t win. I will be buying them ASAFP - as soon as financially possible!

  6. Pictures are powerful!

About four years ago, when I finally decided that enough was enough - I did exactly that. I took pictures. They were scary. And it made me realize I didn’t like at all what I was seeing. For the next year, I took monthly pictures. After a year, I was happy where I’d gotten myself to. Since then I’ve remained living a healthy lifestyle, although my weight and appearance to fluctuate from time to time. In any rate, this is a good reminder that I should get the camera out again and see if I’m happy with where I’m at. Thanks for the reminder.
