If you missed out on part 1 you can check out 50 Best Diet Foods You Never Knew About Part 1here.
Now, enough of that, here is the goods!
4 calories for every 5 grams, this little sugar packs a punch. No GI, good for diabetics, also low on normal substitute side effects like gas or bad aftertaste. It can be a little pricey though, and a tad hard to find but worth it. I highly recommend it for low calorie Brulee’.
Want to shake up your smoothies and shakes? Dump some of these nibs in them for a bity chunk. At only 1-2 calories per nib they can add huge flavor for very low calories.
37- Laughing Cow Cheese Light Garlic and Herb/Light French Onion
A lot of people don’t know that there is cheese that lives outside of the packet section. Always make sure to check out what I call the “nice cheese zone” at your local stores and you may be surprised at the low calorie and moderate cost cheeses you may find. This cheese goes amazing on a sandwich or can even be manipulated into one heck of a delicious dressing.
You name it, they have and it is sugar free. These syrups, while made to be a coffee flavoring, by large can do wonders to adding some zip to recipes beyond coffee based.
I love, love, love freeze dried ice cream. A little goes a long way and is a neat method of adding a little extra kick to a low calorie desert.
34-Lenny and Larry’s Muscle Brownies
The name says it all.
Fillo Dough has more uses then just desert. Mixing this dough with a savory item (like a nice beef tip) can give you a lot of textures but for much less calories.
32-Hebrew National 97% Low Fat Beef Hot Dogs
We know the horror stories of hot dogs and yes, these are still packed with sodium but at 45 calories a pop, no carbs, and a much better meat profile, this isn’t to shabby. Oh, did I mention they taste really, really good and like real hot dogs?
It might sound weird but if looking for true hydration check this stuff out. This is best and tastiest way to get in almost 700mg of potassium per serving and with only 60 calories. It also goes good in meals/recipes for cooking, particularly Thai dishes.
30- Crispy Fruits
I am A-D-D-I-C-T-E-D to these things. A huge bag contains pouches and each pouch is only 30-40 calories and they are AMAZING! The only reason not higher on the list is because thus far a local health store and Amazon.com are the only place for them to be found and they are costly. They are fantastic though and worth every penny. I don’t buy things, I buy food!

I actually heard about some of these! The laughing cow cheese is good. I would like to try those Hebrew National hot dogs. Those crispy fruit sound great to a fruit-o-holic like me (but they are pricey). My only problem is that I would scarf down all the bags at once
!!
Thanks Leigh too for the new podcasts! Love em!!!
Missy
Can’t wait to read the rules you mentioned on Twitter, will they be posted here?
Ok, just finished the podcasts and am hating Katie!! ( just kidding!) I really enjoyed it;
When I downloaded the podcasts, one did not download so I was wondering what was up. I got the newest email podcast and one
about injuries. I forget the name of the other that said it was not found.
I have a question though, in MRM you mention on page 15, I think, about looking at the meal plans provided; I never saw a meal plan, am I missing them? I was reminded of it when someone asked about the pre workout meal on the podcast. I am the kind who needs to see specific plans (meals and training) to go by. You also mention in FLTS about possibly paying someone to design meals but how do we know they won’t be like the trainer that you did not like and steer us wrong?
Ok since I was the only one commenting, I thought I’d ask some questions!!!!
Where/when is the new pic of Katie gonna be up so I can really be jealous!!!
Hi Leigh! I have a question about Stevia. I know the individual packets say “0 calories”, but I use one in my coffee each morning and maybe some later in the afternoon in my tea. Should I be counting these as 4 calories each. Just finding my feed!
They don’t have as much variety, but Starbucks will sell you the sugar-free syrup for 1/3 of the price of the torani. I think 250 ml of Torani was $6 but 1000 ml of Starbucks was $8. Hazelnut rocks.
Yes it is me again! Leigh, I just wanted to say I enjoyed your great interview on Mike Robertson’s blog!! You are too cool.
Another great list, Leigh! I’m off to download the podcasts so that I can listen to them tomorrow during the kids’ nap time!
Ok, so where are the new podcasts? Did they go out in an email? I didn’t get it if they did.
Missy-The Challenge Info Will Be Announced This Week. The meal plan thing has been brought up, it was a error BUT it will be made up for.
As for the pic of Katie I will see what I can do
Rachel-Stevia has no calories to the best of my knowledge. I think of Stevia much like mint.
RG-Hazelnut does indeed rock. My Drink is a Coffee Frappachino Light with Sugar Free Hazelnut Syrup. Tis awesome.
Sinead-Hmm You can access via Itunes and the by Podcastblaster through the directory on the sidebar though one is not working right now, going to fix that. I am thinking I am just going to post them up on my site from now on once I can get a good download plugin.
I love those Sweet Riot Nibs crushed up on protein ice cream. Haha Missy you crack me up.
Thanks so much for these ideas! I already made a purchase from netrition.com based on your last post, and I love the Protein chips. I can’t wait to see the rest of your list.
My UPS man just delivered the Crispy Fruits and they are really good. There are five children in my house at the moment (not all mine) and they all really liked these. Thanks Leigh!
