What happens when you read the Fat Loss Troubleshoot.

Inner Questions for the Day:

Do you know how to not lose fat anymore?
Do you really know what you want?

Direct Question of the Day:

What do you plan to do with your fat loss? Treat it as if it is money to spend. What are you going to do with it? What are you going to do with that health, that new body, and that new outlook?

I think that I know. I think–I hope–that once I reach my goal weight (and maybe a little below to make sure that I’ll be happy on “fat” days…see? I listen!), then I’ll play around with my intake and exercise to see what I need to do to maintain that look. By the time I diet down to that point, I should be well aware of what food does and what exercise I need. :) That’s my plan, at least. :)

The best thing about being fit is the energy and in general feeling good physically and mentally (need those endorphins!). Knowing that I am in the higher risk catagory for osteoporosis, I really look to weight training to help prevent that.
Guess that doesn’t really answer your question Leigh…but thanks for the motivation to stay fit. I am really enjoying the OBM challenge although I know I won’t see any big physical changes (well there will be some due to my no longer being on the OVEREATING experiment. haha And being back to working out regularly again.)

I just wanted to comment on the cartoon. Maintenance is definitely something strive for. Once one is satisfied with their physique and what they have accomplished, moving to maintenance and enjoying their lean, fit body can be very rewarding. Plus, the fact that maintaining what they’ve accomplished is not nearly as hard as the process of building the physique/losing the fat in the first place!

  4. Once I hit my fatloss goal weight, I’m going to focus on building some more muscle and revealing my abs.

I am also going to add fitness and fatloss coaching to the coaching services offered by my new company. I want to take what i’ve learned and share it with others.

I grew up modeling. All through high school and college. I had made a deal with my parents that I would never model bathing suits, lingerie or anything beyond. There was a part of me that always wanted to model the bathing suits.

So, I am going to make a smokin’ hot calendar for my husband! Maybe I’ll give one to my parents, just for kicks! (o:

  6. Annelle says:

I just got a great idea… Sorry, I just can’t get off this calendar idea!

What about we all make a calendar! There could be a little before photo and a sexy or sophisticated, photo as the big one. And we could add our own weight loss tips or encouragements! Ooooo…. I’m liking this idea… we could call it Leigh’s Losers!

    What do you guys think?

  7. Annelle, I LOVE that idea. We could donate the proceeds from selling it to St. Judes!

  8. Danielle says:

I’ve been doing this for SO long that I can’t imagine for the life of me that it could be possible! The truth is that even when I’m not trying to shed fat I’m building muscle and working toward very specific fitness goals that require close attention to calories, macros, etc.

Sometimes I think it would be nice to just be like a “regular person” – well, one who eats mindfully and exercises! – but I realize that that’s not who I am now. I want MORE for myself athletically than most people.

That daily focus on fitness and nutrition is more than worth the investment for how it makes me feel about myself and my life. We can’t choose to not grow older but boy, we sure can control a lot about HOW we age. And I ain’t talkin’ Botox! ;-)

  9. Annelle I love that idea and Josh that would be fantastic to donate the proceeds to St. Judes! Leigh’s Losers Peeling of the Fat haha that would be great!

  10. Jim says:

I think Annelle just gave us all the answer to Leigh’s question.

Yeah, baby, I’m gonna be in a calendar!! I call July!!

  11. Matt says:

    I can be Mr.September – that’s when my birthday is :) :) :)

But seriously, I think retaining leanness will be a new challenge in itself, but if being lean was like money, I would spend it on living to the limits. That’s why I do it – I want to live beautifully

  12. ETANA FINKLER says:

No calendar for me; there is not going to be visible change in 4 weeks that anyone except my trainer and I will notice…

However, when I am at maintenance, I will be out in the world, not hiding from family, friends and challenges! I’ve missed many social events because 1) I was on a diet so I didn’t want to be tempted by the food, 2) “nothing fit; or 3) I didn’t want my family/friends to see me “fat again.”

Maintenance will be its own challenge to not yo-yo any more, but rather to keep building health and strength as I age better each year. To learn to live maintaining my goal without being micro-focused on the numbers. To naturally adjust from a high caloric meal or day by having immediate deficit the next few days. I think it will be 2 years to build those habits, and I do look forward to it!

Hey guys, how did you get to use your pic as your avatar?

  15. Oh what a loaded question this is. Isn’t it funny how reaching a goal is sometimes a little anti-climactic? I think this feeling is good and normal because, we are always striving to grown. It has been quoted that if you aren’t growing you are dying, and I truly believe that as well. Its good to always have that next step, the next level, and so on. We always want to further expand ourselves. We reach that goal, which allows us a greater perspective, and then because of that accomplishment and new visibility, we set new, more expansive goals. Its all about the journey really, not the accomplishment.

    Umm… hit the beach without a shirt!.. D’UH!! :)

Then I’m going take a photo of myself posing in a hot pink leopard print thong then send it to my buddy’s wife :) He jokes around that “Before you know it, you’ll be walking around the beach in a thong” so one day I told him he better be careful what he wishes for, or I’ll send his wife the photo. He thinks I was joking – sucker!! :) Hey, everyone’s got their way of being a cheerleader, I guess. hehehe.

I will use my powers for good, not evil (well, ‘cept for the above mischief) by continuing education and getting the credentials to help others achieve their goals.

Of course I will continue my own training to achieve an even higher level of personal fitness

  19. Cynthia says:

I just want to feel normal. To get to a point where I can eat without logging every little thing, but keep it good for portions. And I want to have my exercise/activity level just as part of my life. Something I just DO every day.

Mostly, I’d like to shop for some more stylish clothes, just a few. I’m not a clothes horse AT ALL, but a long time ago, when I’d managed to get from 200-165, I was starting to look not bad. I even wore some skirts, which normally I NEVER do, because they make my hips look so huge. Which, admittedly, they are, but no need to make it worse looking!

I’d like to try cross country skiing again. I did that once… and while downhill was scary, my knees/ankles DO NOT SNOWPLOW WELL, going uphill felt like flying! But I don’t want to try it again until I weigh less, because my balance is not very good right now, even on my Nordic Track. That, and if I have to sit down to stop myself, I don’t want to be heavy. I learned the first time that if you sit down on a rock, you can bruise your tailbone pretty bad!

And when the weight is off my feet… I’ll just plain play more. And dance too!

I think a calender would be fun. I will make this an ongoing thing and perhaps work it into another challenge even. Great idea.
