Around the Web

14 Nov

No, this isn’t a cop out post because I am overloaded with putting the final challenge results together!

*pause*

Even if that were the case, here are some fantastic things you might have missed this week around the web.

-Sheila Viers posted up her Oatmeal Challenge and is making me hungry.

-Mike Robertson put up a great article on Back Training.

-Tony Gentilcore put naughty women up on his blog…shocking I know.

Update coming tomorrow on “What now? The Post Challenge Road” and then tomorrow night the unveiling of the winners, all of them, of the challenge and how YOU can donate to help those who are having trouble helping themselves right now.

As for check ins for those of you playing along I need the following for you to be in running for winning.

-Before and finished challenge picture
-Start and end weight
-A picture of a BIG MEAL you enjoyed

That is all, Good Luck!

I like the oatmeal idea. Lyle’s site looks great. Not sure if he will make it two weeks without being mean.

Cynthia Shari Joy and EVERYONE ELSE- You can check in on Saturday or Sunday sorry for any confusion :)

I got my impression that our check-in was Sunday from this post:

    http://avidityfitness.net/2008/11/08/the-home-stretch-challenge-update/

where Leigh said “Our next check in will be the final check in on Sunday (though technically my crew will be on Saturday so I can get their pictures up).”

Mind you, I’ll probably get up and do the measurements and pictures early tomorrow anyway, but something did come up… opportunity to dump all our leaf bags at the local sanitation center for composting for FREE! And I sure wouldn’t mind doing that and having them out of the driveway before the next rain!

So it would be useful to know for sure which day our posts are due!

Damn… we must’ve posted at almost the same time, Leigh!

Thanks for clearing that up… I just wanted to be sure of when, so I didn’t mess up and not get my check-in in on time. Even if I’m not exactly a front runner in this thing, I still want to finish.

Raking is a good workout, BTW!

  11. Leigh Peele says:

Cynthia- Haha that is fine. I can’t wait to get everyone’s stats!

    Oh and raking is killer

  12. Lori says:

Looking forward to seeing everyone’s results!!

So glad to hear that; after 4 days of 350 calories from my medical fast, I am UP 3 pounds of gas or water or something :-( … when I thought I’d be down 5… So much for scale weigh hahaha… And also where Leigh mentioned in her book about a woman being disappointed because on weigh-in day, her losses are slow and small, but her husband tracked her everyday weight and there were larger drops… I went from 175 to 166, phenomenal results for ME for a month. I saw 166 on 2 days, one was this past Wed, after 1 test and before the other. Today I am 169. Let’s see what tomorrow brings.

Can’t wait to see the offical results!
    And all us unofficials too!

    Etana,

Bodies just get plain weird sometimes the way they react, and going off the normal routine can sometimes swing things in directions you don’t expect. Hopefully things will be better for you tomorrow! You have had good results! And don’t forget, inches might show changes where the scale is lying through its teeth!

The scale cooperated for me fairly well today, but I’m certainly going to hedge all bets and see if anything more happens tomorrow! Now, gotta run, getting out the Myotape.

i will be posting my pics and results tomorrow am

  16. Mike says:

I’m SO over scales… and into writing Dr Seuss poems – still waiting for a reaction from Leigh on that email today. ;) I’ll share once I know she’s read it.
