Just put up my review about Jillian Michaels new book “Master your Metabolism” over at FLzine. 7 emails since midnight and they aren’t happy.
To be honest I felt that I was pretty gentle. For all you Biggest Loser and JM fans, I still got nothing but love for you, just don’t like what THEY are doing. Always remember that.
I put up another article that had to do with the balance of rest and training. Put it a little different than before I think so if interested you can check it out here.
I wanted to write about this myself but Mike Howard did a nice brief job at covering the Vegetarian binge eating study that came out. Good stuff.
Lastly, over the next few weeks I am going to start to put a call out for certain test clients. It will range. It is to test out a program that is going to be released in the next year (don’t worry, Body By Eats is still coming
) I have done it in person and with accountability, but I always feel like if you are going to sell a program online that you need to test that program in a realistic setting. I have done that thus far with anything I released and I don’t think, IMO, a program should ever be released without being tested on the audience it is being released too.
I am going to need various people of all shapes and sizes (I will give specifics later) who can follow a program for 8-12 weeks BUT with little to no accountability from me. Meaning I am going to tell you what to do and give you the updates when needed, but other than that you are on your own. Because of this I will be needing people who are disciplined enough to do what I say without me having to help that much along the way, because that is how it would work in real life with the product. You lack of adhering to the program would skew my results and I don’t like that. I wanted to go ahead and put this out there for people to think about. If you think you have what it takes to keep yourself in check, but you just need the right program, then we are a go.
This isn’t just for fat loss either.
Keep an eye open for the next couple of emails/blog posts. I will be asking for the certain types I need at different points.
Now, get out of here and enjoy your weekend.

I think I should get automatic acceptance in the new program.. Cmon Leigh, nobody is a better test dummy than me…
Oh I am definitely in! I have been wanting to work with you forever, even if it is just you setting up the program!
You can count me in on whatever test program you’re doing after mid-June.
It’s T-25 days ’til eviction day, baby!
Can we send you emails, or ask for advice on forums if we get stuck in the process? If so then I am in too. I just want to get down to 8% and I am at 11%.
When is it going to start? I am so excited! Do we have to follow a certain diet, because I am a vegetarian.
You are so awesome to give people an opportunity like this Leigh. Oh by the way I loved your review of Jillian’s book.
im curious and keen
give me orders and i will take them and follow through
you’re awesome
Oo OO!! I’m in if you want me!! Ok, I’m off to follow the link to binging vegetarians.
me too!!!
I cant wait to hear more!!!
Dammit, Jim beat me to the punch!! Come on Leigh, you know you want me and Jim for another round.
I may carry water like a camel but you know I can stick to a plan.
Pick me! Pick me!
Would love to be a test dummy for your new program!
I have been pretty discouraged, 3-4 weeks of a 500-1200 deficit with GWF, eating 1350 cal avg of healthy food with some chocolate weighed in to the mix, Lots of NEAT and some cardio, no fat loss change; feels like what I remember from before One Big Meal, though now I’m so much more educated. I think it’s too soon for weight lifting. I think I need to get lots of sleep and foam roller mobility yoga stretching walking, not to mention some shopping and gardening NEAT.
I would be interested in a fat loss plan that was specific. I’m not gonna say, “I’m in,” until I hear the description of the plan. But I am desperate for results. I am tired of living in deficit and with failure results. My mind starts to play silly irrational games… curious… Etana
I meant to say a DAILY deficit of 500-1200 cal / day and no results
etana
Etana, I’ll bet that your gut is right and that you need some more sleep/rest/foam roller stuff plus just NEAT and walking. You’re recovering from non-weight bearing stuff, right, plus you had a couple of injuries during your recovery. I bet your body is still working on healing everything. Why not take a week or two to eat at maint. and focus on the sleep/rest/recovery stuff and see what happens?
Count me in too! I’d love to try it out for you and give some detailed feedback
Keep me in mind. Depends on what/when, but would love some help on getting rid of the last 15 pounds of fat. Hav ebeen tkaing it easy a bit too much for the last couple months….
I only hope that those that get chosen aren’t chosen on first response first in…I can’t get into this website or my email at work–freakin’ internet police!!!
I would love to be considered as a test client. Thanks for all you do Leigh!
If you need a 30something mom at 25% BF, I’m allll over it.
If I’m the type of test client you need, then I’m in!
Count me in! Please!! I have tried EVERYTHING! I HAVE to get this weight off before I turn into my mother.
Jim- You are definitely a great test dummy, we’ll see.
Emily- Thanks for the response, you are eager aren’t you.
Sinead- Wow is it really that soon, did you pick a name yet?
David and Sharon- I am going to get into more specific rules and when everything will start later on.
Chrissy- Well I am glad someone like the review
Cynthia and Shari- Thanks I am going to give an update soon.
Lyvvie- I hope you enjoyed Mike’s article, I did.
Mike- We’ll see, you need to put your bedhead picture in your gravatar.
Erin and Sandra- I will let you all know the requirements soon.
Etana- I agree with Sinead, you have to listen to your body, but I will keep you updated on what the program is going to be.
Cesar and Josh- I will keep you both in mind. I will definitely need you for an extended period of time and details details details.
Deb- Ha know it won’t be chosen like that, I need specific people for different things.
Diane, Steph, and Xwave- Thanks so much. Again I will let everyone know soon
Lesley- Well i don’t want to cause that.
Thank you all so much for the interest and I will be talking more about the program and people I need in the future.
Molly Ann…we think.
COWABUNGA!!!!Keep me posted!
I’d love to help out and give it a shot.
I’m interested
Ooh! It’s been a lifelong dream of mine to be a test subject! >D
Well, not really. But it would be sort of a cool thing to put on a bucket list, and much better to participate in something like this than in a drug study, IMHO. I’ll be watching for the parameters!
I have the discpline and I need the help. I have worked out for yrs. and I’m gonna be 50 this yr. and I am stuck. I would be up for it.
Sinead- That is a good name. I like it.
Judy, Vikram, RJ, Amanda, and Patti- Check today’s post.
I am interested in being a part of the study. I am a 28 year old female, 5′7inches, 150lbs with 21-23% body fat. I competed in 2 natural bodybuilding competitions last year and didn’t have much success with the fat loss. I follow my diet to 100% without cheating and committed 100% to my training requirements that we set out for me by my trainer. Since August 08, I have not stopped training in the hopes of losing the weight I put on and all this has done for me is made extremely discouraged, over-trained and even fatter! My calories have never gone past 2200 or below 1700 calories per day doing resistance training 4-5x/week and 1hr of a mix of high intensity and low intensity (sometimes more) cardio per day 6x/week. I have been to the doctor several times to get blood work done and nothing abnormal has come back. I have been on low carb diets and at 1700 calories felt like I was going to die. I am cold all the time, not sleeping well at all for over 3 years and everything hurts. My diet is really good now 40 (prot) -20 (fat)-40(carbs) at 1800 calories. Nothing has budged in weight and my legs are so dimply! I backed off on exercising a bit doing crossfit or bootcamps 3x/week and cardio 45min intervals 2x/week. I bought your ebook program and am going to start the meta repair program. I have been eating my maintenance calories 1788 for 4 days now and have taken 5 days off training. I feel like I have been hit by a truck! I am not even at the level 4 calorie requirements in the meta repair program and I am starving! I would like to try your study to see if there is even a chance for me because I am seriously at the point where I am wondering if all this effort will even pay off or just lead to further disappointment. My goal is to be at 16-18% body fat and to be healthy. Commitment has never been an issue as I strive on structure. Please HELP!! Thanks in advance for your consideration.
If I am not a candidate for your study, I had a question about the meta repair. It seems to be laid out for people who have been eating very few calories and for me I have not severely restricted myself. I have been in a deficit for a long period of time but more so over-trained than anything else. Would I start at my maintenance calories (1788 cal) for the rest period or at level 4 calories (1788-35%)? My appetite is good and every few hours I am hungry. My water intake has always been up around 3L per day. I don’t have anything with artificial sweeteners and I weigh and measure everything exactly.
Again thanks so much for your time and look forward to some feedback.
Sincerly.
Marie C.
Hello, I recently posted on the JP fitness forums asking for help on reaching my goal. I feel like I would be a great candidate for the testing program. Please email me when you get a chance, and I will be in touch!
Oooh! Can I please volunteer?? at 25 and 5 ft 8 inches, I’ve lost about 60 pounds in 4 years through trial and error, have 20 more pounds to lose and I’m an all out “been there done that” specimen w.r.t diets and various exercise regimes. My system seems to have developed absolute immunity to ANY effort to lose more weight (though I’d managed to be 10 pounds thinner until it bounced back n has been that way for nearly a year now. Have nothing to lose (pun) so I’d LOVE to participate!!
If you need an older chick as a test subject, I would be interested! I’m 49 and have been trying to lose the same 15-20 pounds for the past 6 months.
Can I be in – please!!!
