Back…and better than ever

09 Dec

First let’s keep the mushy gushing stuff to a minimum, yeah I missed ya. That is all you are getting from me.

*Wipe gentle tear from eye*

As some of you know I have been very busy with training, and the re-launch of the new Fat Loss Troubleshoot page.  First things first, a little gossip.

I would love to drape you with stories of sexiness, parties, and paparazzi stalkings, but the truth is the nutrition was so restrictive that they were just bitchy and wanted to sleep. Ah yes, we are all just humans after all. My days were spent talking nutrition trash, teaching some trainers how to do a better job with their “star” clients, and basically teaching the blind to lead the hungry. I’m kidding ( a little). All in all I got really hands on and got to teach other trainers how to get the best from their clients, no matter who they are.

Why does any of it really matter? It doesn’t, but ooooh the sexy resume bulking it does for me.

Enough of that, let’s get to the good stuff.

Good Thing #1- The page has changed and nothing is the going to be the same. Check out the trailer now…

(Make sure to refresh/reload page if been recently to remove stored cookies.)

Now this is the really important part for PREVIOUS CUSTOMERS.

If you previously purchased the full package: You will be receiving all the updated material for free. I hate it when people don’t do that. This one time I bought a product and literally the next day it was all decked out with the “bonuses” and extra stuff. The price was the same, but he expected me to buy it all over again? Yeah I don’t think so. Your “$2000″ bonus offers just weren’t cutting it for me.

If you previously purchased only the Fat Loss Troubleshoot or only the Metabolic Repair: You still have the same material, BUT you will get a ONE TIME ONLY upgrade to get the full package. There really aren’t a lot of people that bought only one book anyway, but there are enough to where I wanted to give the upgrade option. I assure you it will be reasonably priced, but I will be emailing it to you personally (so it really will be for a ONE TIME ONLY deal). To find out make sure to sign up on the list.

Good Thing #2 – The Body By Eats (the most awesome healthy recipe fat loss cookbook ever) preview is here! It can be downloaded from the FLTS page. I warn you that looking at it may cause severe hunger and the feeling of wanting more.

Why the sign up? I have switched over mailing lists. After this I will no longer be sending emails through from my previous merchant set up. So if you don’t sign up for the Body By Eats preview then you will not get updated on all the juicy information I have coming up.

Good Thing #3 – This is more good for me I guess, but I got a gig at the Examiner.com to be one of their “Weight Loss” experts.  They are currently ranked in the 3,000’s by Alexa rankings, are growing at a massive rate, and are allowing me to be me. This means the good stuff can get out more, and that is never bad.

Check out good things 4-6 tomorrow. In the meantime, go sign up on the new mailing list and get yourself a mini cookbook.

PS-Pass around the link and cookbook sign up, get people excited about it. Good things are happening, CHANGE can happen. All we can do is work from the inside to make things better.

50 Best Diet Foods You Never Knew About (part 1)

22 Sep

Every place I turn I hear about or see a list of foods when on a diet and they are all the same. Slim Bears, Crystal Light, and Pudding Pops. This time you are in for a treat, literally. I have put together and linked to  50 of the best diet foods you never knew about. I promise you there is at least one gem on this list you didn’t know about until now. Sit back, bring your taste buds, and dive in.

#50-Sami’s Bakery Low Carb Protein Cheesecake

Sami’s, in general, has amazing eats. Low carb wraps, chips, breads, high protein, whole grain, and gluten free are just a few of the delicious and wonderful treats they offer. You name it, they have it. The only reason they aren’t higher on the list is because they are hard to find locally and are a bit costly. That being said, if you have the money or if you can find it locally, then get on it.

Stats of Cheesecake: 56g Slice: Calories:170  Carbs:2g

#49-Rudy’s Right Choice-Low Carb Bread

Low carb bread has a habit of tasting like cardboard on a good day. On top of that, it is usually pretty high in calories because they up the fat content. Fat isn’t bad of course, but in this case if looking for lower calories it is a concern. Rudy’s right choice hits the best of both worlds with each slice landing at 45 calories and only 7 carb grams per piece. The ingredients are quality as well. The only con is it can be a little harder to find and not available, that I can see, internationally.

#48-Kay’s Natural Cripsy Protein Chips

These chips come in a high variety from nacho cheese to lemon herb. With 10 grams of protein per serving and only 110 calories for 30 grams, you are going to have a hard time finding pre-packaged chips with these stats.  I highly recommend giving the nacho cheese a try and perhaps you can pair them with a sandwich made from the bread above.

#47-Calorie Countdown Milk

When you are smack dab in the middle of a hardcore diet every calorie counts. That being said, a nice way to tasty up your shakes with ease is to use milk instead of water. Calories Countdown Milk is perfect for this with only having 45 calories for every 8 ounces. They are also one of the only brands that have a Reduced Fat Chocolate Milk and this make me happy.

#46-Glenny’s 100 Calorie Brownies

It’s a brownie. It is 100 calories. Need I say more? They are available in Chocolate Chip, Peanut Butter, and Blondies. The only reason this isn’t in the top 10 is because they are hard to find.

#45-Zero Impact Pumpkin Protein Bars

These protein bars are the richest and softest protein bars I have ever had.  They are also huge and while they are not that low in calories at around 400 calories per bar, they are highly balanced with macros,  and are essentially a whole meal in a bar. A soft, chewy, mouth sticking, yummy meal in a bar at that.

#44-Cinnamon Pork Puffs

These rinds are 45 calories per serving, one carb, and perfect for the low carbing lifestyle especially when looking for a crunch. One of the hardest aspects of low carb eating is sometimes missing out on certain textures and feels and this more than makes up for it.

#43-Bob’s Red Mill Xanthum Gum

It is a fantastic, very low calorie, thickener that you can use to add a little consistency to anything. This one might be a little hard to find at local stores so you can either buy it online or you could also you glucomannan, guar gum, agar, or pectin. It is a fantastic thickener that you can use to add a little consistency to anything.

#42-Better N’ Peanut Butter

This is the first peanut butter appearance and it wont be the last. It isn’t a secret that I have a problem with peanut butter and I have bought every kind of peanut butter that there is. This PB has 100 calories per serving and very little will go a long way. It doesn’t taste a lot like normal peanut butter and is really sweet, but it is a great flavor in general.

#41-Nutritious Living Hi-Lo™ with Strawberry Pieces

Cereals are very good at being low in protein, high in crap, and bland on taste. With 12 grams of protein per serving the Hi-Lo cereal is making the others look even worse.

#40-Colgin Liquid Smoke

Liquid smoke is more of a seasoning than a food but I have to put it in because it is a great way to add a new flavor to your  eating. Anyone who has tried to “spice up” their chicken knows that sometimes you need all the help you can get. If you want the flavor without the smoke then you have just found it in a bottle.

Chocolate & PB2 High Protein Dessert Souffle’

22 Aug

Recently I mentioned this recipe on Fitcast. The response has been overwhelming to say the least. You, the reader, have literally bullied me for more information on this rich and intoxicating treat. My response to you is…fine, here it is.  ;) This is going to be one of the recipes in the upcoming Body By Eats book.

Items Needed:

Mixing Bowl-Medium
Whisk
Souffle Dish (Can use smaller bowls and coffee mugs but may need to adjust the times depending on how shallow/deep the container.)

Ingredients:

30 Grams of protein Powder
20 Grams of PB2
10 Grams of Regular Peanut Butter
10 Grams of Cocoa Powder
2 Grams of Splenda or 1 Packet of Stevia
3 to ounces of Skim milk

1. Put all dry items in mixing bowl and mix together.
2. Add the Peanut Butter and Skim Milk.
3. Whisk together all items until completely mixed. No lumps of powder or peanut butter. If need you can add small drops of extra milk for some thicker peanut butters.
4. Pour Mixture in Souffle Dish.
5. Place dish in Microwave and heat for 30 secs.  Take out the dish and move (small amount) of cooked outside towards the middle allowing the mass of liquid to hit the outside again.
6. Heat for 15-20 secs more, repeat same step of moving outer cooked layer inside. If it was really liquidy the first time still then do 20 secs. If it had some firm spots stick to 15.
7. Heat for 15-20 more secs (time again depending on how liquid.
8. Allow it to sit for 1 min. Then take a butter knife and run around the edges of the dish, turn the dish over onto a plate and like that, you have a beautiful, soft, melting in mouth, protein souffle.

Stats:

Calories: 322
Protein: 39 g
Fat: 10g
Carbs: 24 g

*Note this is assuming the highest possible with splenda, peanut butter, and protein powders. Can be less than this in calories and carbs*

Please let me know how it turns out or if you need any tips or advice.

Leigh Peele and 3 Big Pieces of News

13 Aug

Big News #1- I am going to be talking on the Fitcast. For those not aware of what it is Fitcast is a fitness show hosted by Kevin Larrabee. I am told my boy, Tony Gentilcore, is going to be on the call so I am excited about that. Tony is one of my favorite fitness bloggers due to him being able to consistently fuse humor and something good to say every time.

If you have something you want answered shoot some questions here: http://thefitcast.com/?page_id=440

Big News #2- I am ending my run of distance-training until further notice. I have taken up a position of helping other professionals that will not leave me time for new distance clients. This is a pretty big deal, short term. I am still going to be doing in-person training, but in order to do that I can’t take on any more clients in a distance-sense except for special conditions or case clients. As a result, I am feeling terrible turning down all the requests for training. Even though I won’t be able to take on new clients I AM going to be doing phone consults and a free conference. Thus, it works out better because you are going to get more of me and for cheaper.

Big News #3- Body By Eats is going to be having a recipe contest and it’s own blog! Not only will you get your recipe in Body By Eats you will also win the book, all the downloads, and did I mention the luscious cash prize?!

Stay tuned for more details to come.

EDIT: I got one message asking what is “special occasions or case clients” and how do you qualify?

Well sometimes I do a particular study on a certain group of people (ex-smokers, cancer recovery, etc) and will ask for them.

The special occasions are not because ”I have lots of money” since in reality I could care less about the monetary aspect, and I can get that without being “picky.” Instead, special occasions are usually those with severe physical limitations or illnesses. It’s for those who otherwise can’t afford a personal trainer, and I work with them in exchange for having data to pull from them and to just help out. I can’t do this all the time but I do so when I can because it’s still important.

So while it’s fun, and I can’t say I hate it, throwing money at me isn’t going cause a different motivation at the moment and that isn’t what my work is about. It’s only a time issue and nothing more. I will still work with my current clients and am very happy to do so at that.

That being said, please remember the current change isn’t forever and you will find that even better things are to come.
