Neat, Treadmill Desks, and the Podcast

First off, the podcast is officially back. It will be (at least a little while) Q&A only.

I know you are excited.

What I need from you is questions. Please start sending your questions in again through the contact form that you want answered. The ones I can’t get to on the podcast I will use the the Ask Leigh section of FLzine.

Speaking of FLzine, the response has been awesome. Launch day was amazing and things have been climbing steady since then. Lots in store for that site. Please make sure you join the forum and say hello. I have got a few emails from people that are nervous too, please don’t be. I know there are some inside jokes, but truthfully everyone is welcome, that is kind of the point. If someone is rude, just let me know as it isn’t tolerated in the main sections (the fight section on the other hand is a free zone).

I wanted to leave you with a few new articles and topics that might help you along your fat loss goals.

Burning Fat is NEAT-This is an Article that focuses on the importance of NEAT and its role in fat loss. This article also ties in great with the new feature that just went up tonight about how to make your own Treadmill Desk and the review of James Levine’s new book “Move a Little, Lose a Lot.”

Can you believe there is more? There is, but I am wait for the next post to give it away.

By the way, I have really been enjoying all the feedback lately. People wanted more on NEAT and increasing general activity, and I have covered that as much as I can. Next people wanted a lot of information on the GoWears and accuracy. That is almost done.

Since the launch there has been a massive amount of activity going on, tons of interviews/reviews, and conversations. I wanted to highlight a few and talk about some things.

Roni’s Weigh

Just Yesterday I did an interview with Roni who runs Roni’s Weigh. It is crazy to think that someone just chronically their journey could have such a following, but if you talk to her you see why. She is truly just a  nice person, and it was fun doing the interview with her. Head over to read the interview.

FitCast

This past Sunday I was on the Fitcast with Tony, Jon, and Kevin. Jon dropped some serious knowledge and I heard a rumor that a book is in the works (allegedly). I have been a fan of Jon from the get go, if you haven’t checked him out before, make sure to head over to his blog/site. A to Z Fitness

Sarah over at A to Z Fitness did a really thorough review of the book, and just in general is a pretty cool chick. I have been following some of her tweets on my twitter and always funny or informative. Def stop by and check out the review.

Fat Boy Ryan

Ryan Viers is a former client of mine and is the hubby of Sheila over at LiveWell360. He recently released his story and its pretty awesome (I may play a small role). I love those guys, they are extended family. Stop by, read his story, and if you get the urge grab at T-shirt ( My tank top is coming any day now).

This week has been short of amazing. Next week might just rival. I have good news and I have bad news.

Good News: The good news is that I have been involved in a very cool training assignment for a “local” studio. Studio as in film. I know what you are thinking, how can being in Greensboro NC have anything like that to offer? They don’t, ha. However, 3 hours away they do and I am on board. I will keep name dropping for other people but I can say that it doesn’t hurt to have more social proof and for whatever reason why people on that telly help and I will leave it at that.

Bad News: Since I am going to be traveling so much the next few weeks, the holidays are coming, and have a new site launch coming up there is going to be a hiatus until December. I know, I know you are going to miss me but I will still be all over the place. In fact, those of you who have a Facebook page need to add me because I just set mine up!

How to Become a Fat Loss Before and After Picture

This was only 6 weeks, I wasn’t messing around.

They say that “Good judgment comes from experience, and experience comes from bad judgment.” This statement couldn’t be truer in this instance. It is safe to say that I have had some bad judgment. It was not on a grand level of bank robbery or grand theft auto, unless you count the video games. My mistakes were in diet and training. My mistakes were in the approach and understanding of my fat loss. I have since learned a thing or two and I wanted to share my mistakes and lessons learned with the world, in hopes to help others make their own mistakes, but end up victorious.

A few years ago I was average; average body, average hair, average defeats, and average achievements. I didn’t envision much for my future that was special or spectacular. I had hopes for certain dreams, but in the end I knew in my heart they were just that, hopes. This is usually where a person will dive into their “change moment” and to be truthful I didn’t have one of those. No, what I had was an “inspirational moment.”

I was friends with Leigh Peele. If not aware, Leigh Peele is the author and a trainer of this site who specializes in fat loss and metabolism problems. I had seen the changes she had made in her life and I had seen the changes she had made in others lives, and I was jealous. I was jealous of their passion and their drive and I wanted a piece of that for myself. I wanted to be somebody like that to people, I wanted to do something with my life that was more than just “getting by” so I asked her for help and started getting educated about things. Okay and maybe I lost some fat along the way.

Beyond just fat loss, beyond desire of a better personal appearance, I became a personal trainer and started helping others. Helping others achieve their dreams is downright addictive because it helps you as well. I have my days where I struggle too and it is their stories that help me stay inspired to keep going. People always forget that the answer is in the story; you just have to know how to see it. It is not like I knew then when I started I was going to be another before and after, but now that I am I want to help you become one.

Tip #1: Write Your “Before”
Write down everything that you have done, everything that has worked, hasn’t worked, and you hope will work. Write down your dreams, your fears, your victories, and most importantly your plan.

Tip# 2: Log Your “During”
You can’t know how to fix something if you don’t know what you are doing could be wrong. This journey is a big deal so treat it as such by logging your calories, sleep, emotions, and training sessions. This will help you to see patterns where you could be having problems that are hindering your success, and when you are getting it right you can see yourself shine! It is best to always try to learn why.

Tip# 3: Prepare for After
Since you will be done with this journey and are going to be an “after” you are going to have to get ready for this. Buy goal outfits, set up trips and vacations to places you didn’t used to feel at ease going because of your body or health. Prepare for the life you always wanted because now it is your time to grab it!
